Who We Are Chapter goals are community service and public recognition of the beauty of the Hibiscus, and our members are principally from Manatee and Sarasota Counties, Florida.
Chapter meetings are held usually at the Synovus Bank on the corner of 26th St. W. and Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, usually on the second Sunday of each month at 1 pm. Visitors are always welcome. Anyone interested in hibiscus, and growing or propagating them, is invited to join. Questions? Contact our President, Dave Flanders (941) 722-6658 or send an email to Gene Haugh.
Recent Chapter Activities Our September 14 chapter meeting featured Master Gardener Janice Hamlin, past-president of the Manatee River Garden Club, who discussed Bromeliads and their uses. The August 10 meeting featured Jim Bridges (President of Harry Goulding Chapter) who discussed “Starting Hibiscus from Seed.” He passed out seeds and Kathy Grandoff, Unbelievable Hibiscus, provided pots and soil.
And Coming Up ... Our next chapter meeting on October 23rd will be a 6 p.m. potluck at the Boettcher’s.
